Guidelines

What makes a good poll question?

We review every submission against our editorial standards. Here's what we look for:

Specific & Actionable

Questions should be precise and answerable with a clear Yes/No, multiple choice, or scale.

Nationally Relevant

Topics should matter to a broad segment of Nigerians or a significant demographic group.

Answerable by Vote

If the answer exists in government records or scientific consensus, it’s not a poll question.

Avoid These

Personal grievances, rumours, conspiracy theories, or requests for private information.

No Leading Questions

Phrase neutrally. ‘Do you support X?’ not ‘Don’t you agree that X is terrible?’

No Commercial Promotion

We don’t field questions that promote businesses, products, or political candidates.
