NigeriaPolls Research Desk
Everything on this site that argues rather than reports is written here and published under this masthead. We are a survey research company, so our arguments start from numbers and name where those numbers came from.
What we argue about
Policy, markets and method. What a tariff does to manufacturing input costs. What a grid tariff band does to a household budget. Whether a published figure was measured in a way that can carry the weight being put on it. These are questions with evidence behind them, and we have the evidence.
What we will not argue about
Who should win an election. We do not endorse parties or candidates, we do not tell anyone how to vote, and we do not pass verdicts on the people holding office. The moment we did, our election numbers would be worth less to every newsroom and every client that buys them, and our independence would be a claim rather than a fact.
Argued is not measured
Every item on this site is labelled as measured, reported or argued, and nothing is allowed to be two of those at once. Measured means our own fieldwork, and it always carries a sample size, field dates, mode and a margin of error at 95 per cent confidence. Reported means someone else’s news, linked back to them. Argued means this desk, and it is never a poll finding. Our method is published in full at methodology.
